Southern Cornbread


2 cups corn meal (self rising)
1 cup white flour
2 large eggs
1 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil


In a medium bowl, mix dry ingredients together (meal and flour).

Add eggs, water and vegetable to meal and flour and mix together until smooth.

Lightly grease a baking pan or cast iron skillet and pour mix into it.

Bake on 425 degrees F until golden brown and firm (about 20 minutes).

When done, remove from oven, and spread butter on top
