Tea Time

Come, let us have tea and talk about happy things. . .
There is nothing like a hot cup of tea to warm your soul. I love tea and everything that goes with it (teapots, teacups, tea bags, tea parties, the cream, the sugar, and those of whom I share it with). This section is dedicated to tea, for it is a drink sure to bring about happiness and pure delight.

Tea at the Aubrey Rose Tea Room

My sister and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea this Saturday at the Audrey Rose Tea Room in San Diego.  It was truly time well spent.  ;)  If you're in the area, please check this place out!

Tea Time in Savannah, Georgia

My lovely mother Sherry Elaine Montgomery sent me this beautiful picture of her having tea and scones with Devonshire cream and jam at my favorite tea room - Gryphon Tea Room - in Savannah, Georgia. Looking good you little Southern Belle! :) Miss you so much! Can't wait to see you this summer! :) #Savannah #Tea

Chinese Tea Set

Was out shopping and came across this nice little Chinese teapot set.  I got it at only $10!  What a steal!  I am not sure what the characters say (I'll ask my host daughter when she comes this summer), but regardless, it's a great little set!  :)  I've gotta pick up some Chinese green tea so I can drink the "proper" tea from it.  ;)  It'll make it more authentic.

Love,
Torri ;)

Tea Favorites

I ordered this yummmy scone mix from The English Tea Store (www.englishteastore.com). How festive and delicious they were for the season with a hot cup of creamy chai tea! :) The devonshire cream and jam were a PLUS! The three small containers were only $3.50 a piece.

Fall Harvest Tea . . . (October 12, 2013)

Like always, I have a tea party each October to welcome fall and the changing seasons.  I know the beginning of Fall is in September, but September is sooo busy for me, I can't find the time.  The theme of this year's party was harvest.  I served foods that reminded me of fall harvest - potatoes, carrots, pumpkins, etc. . .   I had a great tea party with my family.  Just being together with the ones I love is truly a blessing.

I decided to use my little brown teapot as a center piece.  The color really made the table look and feel like fall.

Dainty sweet potato tartlets with wiped cream was a great idea for dessert.

Fresh apples really helped bring out the color of my tablescape.

I got those little plagues at Wal-Mart for only $.98!  What a steal.

I chose white candles because they went well with my white plate set.

Yummy Fresh apples.  I love this time of the year because you can always find great apples!
Homemade pumpkin cookies and yummy cranberry scones are great with tea or coffee.

This was high tea, and so serving real food, not sweets, was appropriate.  I made foods that reminded me of fall.  Remember to have plenty of vegetables!

Tea/Coffee Cake

Delicious tea/coffee cake inspired by the Two Fat Ladies' recipe. I made a yummy coffee cream icing for the top! :) This cake is great with a strong cup of Earl Grey or coffee.

Vintage Set

Lovely hand-painted vintage iced-tea set I found at an antique shop for $5.

Buttermilk Strawberry -n- Blueberry Mixed Scones

Picked up a batch of fresh berries at the market yesterday and what better to make with them than a tasty batch of blueberry and strawberry scones! :) I enjoyed 2 with a cup of earl grey English breakfast tea. :P

Fall Tea Party (Oct 30, 2010)

This year I followed my old tradition of hosting a fall high tea party by candlelight. My guests had a great time with the games played and the dinner was great. I tried a few new recipes.

Scones with strawberry jam and homemade Devonshire cream.

A feast fit for the king of Camelot! :) Baked chicken with fall veggies, green beans, squash casserole, cornbread, and Yorkshire pudding. :)

Miniture pumpkin tartlets go great with raspberry tea.

Food before it was devoured :)

Desserts that acommpanied my assortments of tea very well

Lovely front view of table. :)

Valentines Day Tea

I decided to do something a bit different this year. As a way to show my family how much I love them, I had a small Valentines Day tea party for them. :) Check out the pictures below of my lovely, romantic tablescape with delicious cakes and sweets. The main course was Mexican nachos. YUMMMY!
