At Home

Home Sweet Home. . .
My sister and I have a new home out of the state of Georgia.  That's right!  We did it!  We now call this 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house located 10 minutes from Temecula, California, in the French Valley, of Winchester, California, home.  :)  Can't wait to decorate and make it ours!  :)  I'll be posting pictures soon!

California Livin' & Lovin' it!

I've finally got around to taking pictures and posting them to my blog!  What has taken me so long is that I've been so lazy.  Well, when you're taking pictures of your house, you have to make sure it's clean and looks its best, and I won't lie, I've been a bit too lazy to clean and get everything ready.  I finally buckled down and did it, though because I've had a few request from friends and family members to "take pictures of your new place."  ;)  Here goes.

Oh, I must say that I am extremely proud of myself for pulling off my bedroom decor.  For the longest, I've been wanting to decorate doing "beach cottage" style.  I never knew how to do it, but after a lot of research and reading decor columns, I was able to do it.  This has to be one of the cheapest, most affordable types of decor there is.  You can simply use anything and make it look "beachy."  That's what I did.  A lot of the items - mainly accessories - you'll see in my bedroom were purchased at stores like - Target, Kirkland's, and Michael's.  BUT, I really have Hobby Lobby and Kohls to thank for the majority.  I wouldn't have been able to do it without them!  ;)

Enough said....  Enjoy!  Thanks for looking/reading! Sorry these have been so late to post!  :)

MY BEDROOM

 MY BATHROOM
I wanted to keep with the "beach cottage" theme of my bedroom, so I decorated my bathroom all beachy.  I must say it's a very nice place to relax.

 ______

UPSTAIRS FAMILY ROOM
We decided to go with a country, all-American theme here.... As they say, you can take a girl out of the south, but you can't take the south out of a girl. ;)

I was so excited that our new place has this cool area in the den.  Now I have "snack bar" area to get popcorn and other goodies while watching movies.
 ______

 HOME OFFICE
This simple room has a Mediterranean theme.  But basically, it's just filled with stuff that any home office should be filled with - books, computer, etc. . . ;)  It also houses the Elliptical work out machine that I need to use more often (that's another story).  hehehe!

TRACY'S BEDROOM
Her room is very quaint, yet fancy.  The greens all go well with each other. :)

 GUEST BEDROOM AND BATH
I was going for a simple English Cottage style here.  I think it turned out cute.  :)

 KITCHEN
Our new kitchen is definitely and "entertainer's  kitchen."  The downstairs portion of our house is very open and very much centered around the kitchen.  I love this kitchen, though!  It's amazing!

FORMAL DINING ROOM
I like this dining room a lot.  It will be a great place to entertain.  I went with a wine/Italian theme in this room, which is very appropriate since we're less than 10 minutes from Temecula Wine Country.

 FORMAL LIVING ROOM
These next few pictures below show you the open concept of the house (kitchen, breakfast room, formal living room, and foyer all flow together).  It was a bit hard to decorate, but I think we pulled it together.  I'm proud of it.

My TEMPORARY Minimalistic Life

Well, as you know if you've been following, my sister and I sold our house a month ago.  Why? - you ask.  Why not - I answer.  :)  Moving is something that my sister and I have wanted to do for a long time, and as soon as the economy straightened out a little, we figured now was the best time to do it.

I can tell you, moving from a four-bedroom house with over 2000 square feet has been a bit of a challenge and not easy to adjust to!  We're now in a 1200 square foot flat  with 2 bedrooms.  We have both had to make huge adjustments and downsized.  Luckily, we're only planning to be here for 4 months!  I do think our new place is very cozy, but I've had to adjust to a lot.  First of all, we had to storage most of our belongings, so I am not surrounded by all the things that I want to be surrounded by.  ;)  Maybe that's a good thing, huh?

I've taken a few pictures of our new place, even though it'll be only a temporary lodging until something more permanent comes a long.

Thanks for reading! :)

Updated Entrance

Sold in April 2015

We decided to get hardwood floors in the foyer, up the stairs, and in the upstairs hallway. We went with Brazilian Cherry. I'm loving them more and more each day! :)

Family room

This is a photo of the family room. Along with the home office, I'd say that this was another popular room in my house. You'll find me here watching TV or playing my Wii Nintendo!

Home office

Of course I spend a lot of time in this room, checking email, chatting with friends, watching instant films from Netflix, and playing the keyboard. I would have to say that this is the most popular room in the house for me. :)

My bedroom

Ok, Coco refused to get off my bed in this picture! :) I chose to go with blue in my bedroom because it's my favorite color. I also love the sea and lighthouses, so, I went with that theme.

Dining room

Here's another one of my favorite rooms in the house. :) Since this room is so large, it was difficult to decorate! It took us nearly 1 year to come up with a style and how to place everything! Finally, I decided to go with Italian country (my mum says it's French country though). We usually only eat in this room during major holidays like, Christmas and Thanksgiving.

Guestroom

Here's the guest room. I know it's a bit "girlie," but in fact, I was going for that style because I wanted to put my small doll collection there. :) This room is opened up to anyone who would like to visit me, so far, it has done well to accomodate everyone who has stayed.

Livingroom

This room is one of my favorite spots in our home. On days when I am relaxing, you'll find me here, cuddling up with a good book or with my laptop, working on my novel.
